I went and here is what i experienced -

I was on the fence about Sunday until the last race on Saturday which was the Jason Baldwin Memorial Cup Qualifier with a $6600.00 winner take all purse for the Pro-4 trucks.

Johnny Greaves had the pole, killed his truck on the green flag and by the time he was able to get it going again he was at the back of the pack. To see him work his way to the lead was absolutely amazing. Twice he had it on the right side wheels to the point the crowd thought he was going over and he saved it. He did a nose stand for what looked like twenty or so feet and saved it again. He was amazing and wanted that win in a bad way.

All of the races really were awesome. The action on Saturday and Sunday both had trucks being punted off the course, lots of rolling and flips along with great side by side action.

Robby Gordon drove his truck into the ground literally in both races he was in. About 4 laps into his first race he sheared off the right front spindle while hunting down the third place truck. In his second race (Pro-2 Jason Baldwin Memorial Cup Qualifier) while he was leading, he broke the left rear suspension – it looked like the coil over shock absorber had parted ways with the truck and rendering it un-drivable.

Rob MacCharen chased ScottTaylor for the Pro-2 Jason Baldwin Memorial Cup Qualifier putting on a show that was equal to the Pro-4 race the day before.

Fearless Pflueger flipped in his Pro-2 race on Sunday with the truck catching fire. He had broked the spindle on the two week wonder and had little in the way of spares, ending his day.

The Trophy Karts were a kick to watch - they had three divisions totalling about 40 entries. Their track was too small for the amount being run at any particular time - they should have been on the big track doing like 5 laps.
The kids would have thought they were doing the Baja 1000.
The 4 or 5 in the modified class were way fast.

There was some good racing in the two buggy classes but I wasn't taking down names or finishing results.

The only down side was the weather.
It was on the cold side and way windy – winds were in the “you have got to be kidding me” range with gusts of the “holy crap” variety.

Yes - I will be going back in September when CORR swings around again.
I'll trade hot for cold and windy any day.

There is nothing worse than being in the shower this morning and realizing that I had said that Rob Mac was chasing Scott Taylor when he was really going after Jerry Welchel.

This would be exactly why I am not a Journalist....
Sorry guys - my bad....

Erik, no worries, I enjoyed reading your point of view... it also gives the non racer an idea of the excitment they can expect at corr events...

Thanks Louis - there was just way too much to take in all weekend long, I was just trying to get it out.
Except for the wind, I had a really good time. I am looking forward to the next one.
